ESTABLISHED IN 1978
Our founder Frank Farrell was introduced to the world of video production by chance. While playing in the attic he found some old film equipment which his father warned not to touch it under any circumstances. Frank interpreted this as – please use the equipment as much as possible! Fascinated by this new found technology, he used his creativity and talents to create short 8mm films of his family.
Recognized early in grade school for his inquisitive mind and talents to make things work, he was asked by the music teacher to figure out how to use the latest technology acquired by the school, a black and white reel-to-reel video system. After accomplishing this feat in a short time, the teacher used the equipment to record students lip-syncing to the Beach Boys and Beatles (aka early MTV), which further inspired him. He proceeded to buy his own production equipment and started shooting weddings, sporting events and more.
Embracing the American Dream and his entrepreneurial spirit, in 1978, Frank launched Custom Video Productions. He was in his junior year of high school.
While attending a video production course in college, he was offered a summer internship. Again, his creative talents took him on another adventure. He landed a job as the “go-to” video guy for Bell Laboratories in Holmdel NJ. For the next 10 years, Frank produced hundreds of corporate and industrial videos for Bell Labs, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, etc.
Today, Frank’s creativity and passion to and share his visions have kept him busy ever since.
Today CVP’s creative team provides services in all aspects of marketing including video production, web design, motion graphics, pod casting and marketing analytics. Other services such as script writing, editing, aerial cinematography and time lapse are also offered. To provide even greater customer service for their clients, CVP has recently added an on-site studio with green screen capabilities.
The team’s creative efforts have not gone unnoticed, as they have been the recipients of multiple creative awards through out the company’s history including but not limited to NJ Ad Club, JSPRAA, NJBMA and most recently a First Place Award with the NJVA.
Today, Frank and his team are recognized as one of the top media producers in the field and lists major industry leaders in Pharma and Healthcare such as Bayer, Eli Lilly, Hackensack-Meridian Health, CentraState Healthcare System and Care One among their clients. The list also includes outstanding educational institutions such as Rutgers University, and corporations such as AT&T, Bio-Key, Kohl’s and Bartlett Tree Experts.
Despite a busy schedule, Frank celebrates that he has been able to realize his dream and helps others realize theirs by mentoring students in his spare time.
